Academy Sports + Outdoors, Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte, and HS football coaches from Vance, West Mecklenburg, Providence Day, Olympic, Myers Park and Charlotte Country Day on July 25 partnered to make back-to-school shopping a little easier for 20 local kids with its annual Back-to-School shopping spree.

Each child from the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte received a $100 Academy gift card to use towards athletic apparel, backpacks, shoes and other school necessities during the donation. This is the program’s eighth year and it has grown to include over 100 similar events, benefitting over 3,000 kids throughout the Southeast and Midwest U.S.

The event was held at Academy Sports + Outdoors, 8675 Concord Mills Blvd.
