The teams have come to the Charlotte area to train this summer with World and International Coach, Mathew Gates.  Gates relocated to Charlotte in 2016, and coaches at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail. He is also the director of the Elite Skating Academy, which is a skating program for beginner-advanced level skaters who would like to pursue competitive figure skating.
