Perimeter Solutions, the industrial products company whose PHOS-CHEK retardants are dropped on wildfires from air tankers across the country, expects to move its headquarters to Charlotte on November 4, the company announced.
The relocation takes effect the same day the company changes its name to Perimeter Group Inc. The Charlotte Business Journal, which reported the move earlier, said the headquarters is currently in St. Louis and that the move follows Perimeter’s $685 million acquisition of Medical Manufacturing Technologies (MMT), a maker of machinery for manufacturing minimally invasive medical devices such as catheters and guidewires.
Perimeter now consists of six businesses in two segments. Its Fire Safety segment includes:
- Perimeter Solutions, the global wildfire-retardant leader, which can deliver retardant within hours to more than 200 air tanker bases worldwide
- Solberg Fire, a leader in fluorine-free firefighting foams
- Monaco Enterprises, whose fire detection and emergency management systems protect more than 200 U.S. military installations.
Its Specialty Products segment includes:
- Phosphorus Derivatives Inc. (PDI), a supplier of phosphorus pentasulfide used in lubricant additives
- MMT, serving medical-device customers in about 50 countries
- Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS), which makes aftermarket electronics that extend the life of installed systems in communications, energy, marine, defense and industrial markets.
“Perimeter has grown to six businesses, and the Perimeter Group name better represents the company as a whole,” said Chief Executive Officer Haitham Khouri. “Our approach is unchanged. We stay close to our customers, understand their needs, and meet those needs with high-quality products and responsive service.”
Under the new structure, the retardant business will keep the Perimeter Solutions name, and the suppressant business, Solberg, will be known as Solberg Fire. Product brands, including PHOS-CHEK and Auxquimia, are not changing.
The company trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol PRM.
