Bank of America has launched a new microsite in partnership with Susan G. Komen™, Everyday Portraits, which transforms a picture and a story into a one-of-a-kind portrait that allows users to honor anyone who has fought or is fighting breast cancer.
Right before their eyes, the pixels of the image are replaced with the words from their tribute to create a memorable portrait. When the portrait is complete, contributors can share their tribute with family and friends through Facebook, Twitter and e-mail. The site URL is http://bankofamerica.com/komenpartnership. “Bank of America feels that it is important to put a face to those who have been fearless, heroic and courageous in their fight against breast cancer,” said Jill Calabrese Bain, Affinity Banking executive for Bank of America. “In addition to our Pink Ribbon credit and debit cards, we want to give people the opportunity to honor someone in their life who has been affected by breast cancer and pay tribute in a new, creative way.” In addition to Everyday Portraits, Bank of America is a National Survivor Recognition Program sponsor for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® series and the presenting sponsor for the Susan G. Komen 3-DayTM series. The Komen 3-Day is a three-day event that supports bringing an end to breast cancer with a 60-mile walk, fundraising participation, community development, and celebration of the special people for whom each person is walking. The first of this year’s 14 walks began during the weekend of July 28-29 in Boston. “We are proud of the partnership we have built with Bank of America. Thanks to their longstanding support, they have helped build awareness while raising critical funds for cutting-edge research and programs that help men and women in communities across the U.S.,” said Nancy Brinker, founder and CEO of Susan G.
