Charlotte Pride has announced several major changes for 2027:
NEW Youth & Family Pride Event, June 2027
This dedicated event for families will transition Charlotte Pride’s Youth & Family activation into its own standalone event during national Pride Month. “We are eager to celebrate the vibrance of Pride Month with the future of tomorrow, and the LGBTQ+ families of the Charlotte region,” said a group spokesperson.
Festival returning to Tryon Street
The group is designing an expanded festival footprint aimed at anchoring core activations back along Tryon Street, Uptown Charlotte’s central corridor.
A Historic Twilight Timeline
The Charlotte Pride parade, one of the most active parts of the weekend, will be seeing a major time change to its first-ever twilight-to-evening parade. “Stock up on those glowsticks and fairy lights; we’re going to celebrate LGBTQ+ visibility with a spectacular, illuminated night-time finale through the heart of the city,” the spokesperson said,
“Expanding our footprint and reimagining our calendar takes incredible teamwork, resources, and vision,” the spokesperson said. “We are deeply grateful to the corporate sponsors, volunteers, city services, and community members who invest in this work year after year. Charlotte Pride is about more than one weekend. It’s about creating a city where everyone has a place. Thank you for helping us build that future.”
