National developer Miller-Valentine Group is pleased to announce the development of Beckett Farms, an upscale apartment community located near the intersection of Gold Hill Road and Interstate 77 in Fort Mill, S.C. Covering 44 acres, Beckett Farms will offer 280 one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury apartments, including carriage units with garages underneath. Construction on Beckett Farms starts this month with the first units expected to be delivered by May 2017.
While Miller-Valentine Group has been active with other product lines in the Carolinas such as commercial and affordable housing, this is their most recent foray into luxury multifamily development in the Charlotte area, an expertise they have established in Michigan and Ohio. Miller-Valentine established a long-term commitment to Charlotte and the Southeast with the addition of partner and managing director of investment management Michael Riechman in 2014, along with vice president of conventional multifamily development Charles Rulick.
“We’re thrilled to bring upscale apartment living to Fort Mill, with a farmhouse chic aesthetic,” said Rulick. “From the architecture to the interior design to the amenities, we wanted to thoughtfully create an apartment community that blended the pastoral setting of Fort Mill with the latest in luxury design.”
Designed in a modern farmhouse style, Beckett Farms’ units contain upgraded wood-style flooring, farmhouse-inspired fixtures and lighting, and washers and dryers. The gourmet-style kitchens feature stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, freestanding islands and tiled backsplashes. All units include covered outdoor balconies and private garage spaces are available on a limited basis.
The pool courtyard includes a saltwater/mineral pool with sun shelves, private covered outdoor cabanas, palm trees, lounge chairs, tables and chairs with umbrellas, a gas fire pit lounge area, and an outdoor kitchen and grill station. A 6,000-square-foot clubhouse features a cyber café and state-of-the-art fitness center with a wide array of equipment, which will also offer yoga, spin and virtual fitness. A secondary fire pit, outdoor dining areas, grilling locations, pocket parks and play lawns with benches, tables and swings will be situated throughout the property.
Surrounded by a creek and ample protected woodland areas, Beckett Farms provides a park-like setting, offering security and privacy for its residents. “We took care to maintain the natural serenity of the site by preserving the surrounding acres of trees for our residents to enjoy,” Rulick remarked.
Beckett Farms is located in the coveted Fort Mill School District with easy access to I-77 and key employment centers including Whitehall, Ballantyne and Fort Mill, which will add more than 5,400 jobs through LPL Financial and Lash Group at the adjacent Kingsley development. Residents will enjoy high-quality retail and dining nearby at Springfield Town Center, Kingsley and Baxter Village. Anne Springs Close Greenway, which offers 2,100 acres of outdoor recreation and 40 miles of trails, is just five minutes away.
Beckett Farms was designed by Axiom Architecture, Design Resource Group and Vignette Interior Design. CF Evans Construction will build Beckett Farms and Miller-Valentine Construction will act as construction manager. Yellow Duck Marketing developed branding and marketing materials for the project.
