Governor Pat McCrory, North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina announced today that TTI Floor Care North America will open a Center of Excellence for Marketing and Innovation in Charlotte, creating 200 jobs over the next two years and an investment of up to $5 million.
“We welcome TTI Floor Care and its storied brands to our state,” said Governor McCrory. “North Carolina, and specifically the Charlotte metro region, is a prime location for consumer products companies like TTI Floor Care to be successful.”
TTI Floor Care N.A.—the marketer and manufacturer of the iconic Hoover, Dirt Devil and Oreck brands—is a global leader in consumer and commercial floor care appliances including upright vacuum cleaners, carpet washers, hard floor cleaners and handheld vacuums. The company maintains this leadership position by combining highly valued brands with the latest in design and performance technology, exemplified by a new range of Hoover Cordless cleaners.
“Following an extensive evaluation process, we chose Charlotte because it provides access to talent with the critical consumer products expertise needed to fuel the growth of our iconic brands,” said Gary Scott, President of TTI Floor Care N.A. “We want to express our appreciation to the Charlotte Chamber, City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and the state of North Carolina for supporting our expansion into the region.”
Compensation will vary by job function, but the average annual compensation for the new positions is expected to be approximately $103,618 plus benefits.
“TTI Floor Care’s decision to invest in Charlotte is a win-win for the local business community and the company. The hundreds of high quality new jobs being created as a part of today’s announcement offer exciting opportunities for many who live in the Charlotte region,” said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to working with TTI Floor Care in the future as the company expands its presence here.”
