Girl Scout Cookies On Sale Across Charlotte Area

Starting Saturday, Dec. 15, the Charlotte Area’s youngest female entrepreneurs are on the loose.

Armed with an arsenal of business skills like goal setting, marketing and business ethics, the Girl Scouts from the Hornets’ Nest Council will kick off door-to-door sales and digital cookie sales in its eight-county region including Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York. Booth sales begin Feb. 8.

Digital cookies allow purchasers to order through a Girl Scout’s personalized website or mobile app. Girls can sell cookies anywhere, at any time and includes options for direct shipment, girl delivery or a donation option. Cookies ordered through digital cookies typically arrive within three to five days, just in time for the gift-giving season; while cookies ordered through traditional methods are expected to arrive in mid-February 2019.

With more than 16,000 girls and adults promoting the best-selling Thin Mints, Samaos, Tagalongs and others, how can you resist?  For as little as $4, the sweetest gifts of the season should include Girl Scout cookies.

“It truly is the most wonderful time of the year for a variety of reasons,” said Angela Woods, CEO of the Hornets’ Nest Council. “Cookie season kick off is full of anticipation for the skills the girls will learn and implement, for the opportunities to grow, and to see them reach for meaningful  goals.”

“The best thing about cookie season is the chance to talk to so many people!” said Rachel Judd, a top cookie seller from Rowan County. “I get to talk to so many people about cookies and practice my sales pitch. I’ve learned about goal setting, decision making, money management, and more. Buying cookies from Girl Scouts does more than just pay for camp – you’re helping us become entrepreneurs! Running my cookie business helps me learn to make smart decisions.”

Don’t miss out on the gift that keeps on giving by building courage, confidence and character in tomorrow’s female leaders.
