CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) has announced the launch of CVS Express in Charlotte, one of the first cities in the nation to have this new service. As part of its commitment to bring digital innovation to its customers, CVS Pharmacy has introduced CVS Express, a curbside pickup service available to shoppers through the CVS Pharmacy App.
CVS Express is designed to create a fast, seamless shopping experience for consumers from mobile device to physical store. The service is currently available in select markets, including California, North Carolina and Georgia. CVS Express is applicable to most front store items, with the exception of prescriptions, with no added cost, providing customers a more convenient, yet affordable, option to shopping.
“Charlotte’s tech-savvy community reflects CVS Pharmacy’s ongoing commitment to innovation, so we believe the region is a natural fit for CVS Express, where customers can enjoy the perks of curbside pickup convenience,” said Brian Tilzer, senior vice president and chief digital officer, CVS Health. “We’re excited to participate in the area’s burgeoning innovation opportunities, and to continue helping Charlotte’s shoppers make healthier decisions more conveniently,”
To utilize the service, customers simply open their CVS Pharmacy app, choose the products they would like to purchase and then select CVS Express as the pickup method. The order is then ready in under an hour and delivered right to the car whenever the customer arrives, with no markups or added costs – creating a more efficient and time effective solution to customers. Additionally, ExtraCare Rewards members will continue to earn Quarterly ExtraBucks and receive weekly ad sale prices on CVS Express orders by entering their ExtraCare number when creating a CVS Express account.
CVS Express was developed in the CVS Digital Innovation Lab in partnership with Curbside, a company perfecting the store pickup experience for retailers and consumers. CVS Express is the industry’s first retail solution that integrates Curbside’s market-leading capabilities directly into the CVS Pharmacy app. CVS Express embodies the digital mission of CVS Health to make healthy lifestyles more accessible and convenient for customers nationwide.
“Curbside was founded on the belief that shopping at local stores like CVS should be as fast and easy as possible,” said Jaron Waldman, co-founder and CEO of Curbside. “With our best-in-class arrival detection software ensuring a seamless handoff experience, and merchant console app powering an efficient pick and pack operation, Curbside is bringing neighborhood stores into the era of instant mobile commerce and is out to fundamentally change the way people shop. In partnership with CVS Health, we’re confident that CVS shoppers in Charlotte will find this new shopping experience invaluable.”
