Four artists present a quirky view of wild beasties at Ciel Gallery’s The Wisdom of Wild Things exhibit. A menagerie of imaginative whimsy unlike any other, featuring vibrant printmaking and naive mixed media creations  in a mash-up of color, texture, and a zookeeper’s wildest dreams in sculpture and pattern leaping from walls, ceilings and windows. Caroline C. Brown and Amy Hart channel their recent residency in Ireland for this exhibit, featuring Irish creatures both wild and domesticated. Teresa Hollmeyer’s exquisite mosaic creatures in glass and tile twinkle with reflectivity, while Jen Walls’ whimsical characters ride beasts into the magical forest.

Charlotte Study Site Opens Enrollment for National Alzheimer’s Prevention Study

Alzheimer’s Memory Center in Charlotte is now enrolling participants in a national Alzheimer’s prevention study to determine whether two investigational anti-amyloid compounds—an active immunotherapy and an oral medication—can prevent or delay the emergence of symptoms of Alzheimer’s in people identified by genetic markers as being at particularly high risk for developing the disease at older ages.
