Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association reports that the number of closings for July 2012 (2,653) increased 22.2 percent compared to July 2011, when closings totaled 2,171. The average sales price in July 2012 ($220,385) was up 3.4 percent compared to the same period last year ($213,205), and the median sales price ($166,100) — the best measure of trends over a period of time — showed prices up slightly, 1.6 percent, compared to July 2011 when the median sales price was $163,500; marking six consecutive months of year-over-year price gains. Michael Flynn will be joining the Charlotte Regional Partnership on August 20 as vice president of economic development services. Most recently he was vice president of proactive recruitment at the Economic Development Corporation of Utah. Police Need Help Finding Driver in Hit and Run Fatality

On 08/04/2012 at approximately 10:16 pm, Alvin Price was attempting to cross the 400 block of Eastway Drive. As Mr. Price was in the right northbound lane of travel, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. After the crash, the vehicle made a u-turn and drove back to the crash scene before leaving the scene of the crash. The vehicle was last seen driving on Eastway Drive towards North Tryon Street. MEDIC responded to the crash scene and pronounced Alvin Price deceased. Detectives have been able to identify the suspect vehicle as a 1999-2001 Toyota Solara. The vehicle is red
