The City of Charlotte has announced that it is not asking residents to celebrate Halloween on Saturday, October 30 in lieu of Sunday, October 31.
However, the City reminds parents and guardians that children are more than twice as likely to be hit and killed by a car on Halloween as any other night of the year and to follow these tips to keep everyone safe this Halloween:
• Safely cross streets, don’t cross between parked cars.
• Walk on sidewalks or paths and children under the age of 12 should always trick or treat with adult supervision.
• Carry flashlights and wear reflective items if you will be trick-or-treating in the dark.
• Teach children to stop only at houses or apartment buildings that are well-lit and never to enter a stranger’s home
