The patriotic sacrifice and selfless courage of our nation’s first responders and service members will be honored at the fourth annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb Charlotte on Saturday, April 27 at 8 a.m.
The 50-floor, 1,203 step, stair climb of the 786-foot Duke Energy Building is named in honor of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller and honors all of the heroic first responders who laid down their lives on 9/11 to save others.
The inaugural Charlotte climb was held in 2015 and was the first event of its kind to take place outside of New York City. It is now part of the Tunnel to Tower Foundation’s national run, walk and climb series.
“We’re honored that Charlotte continues to host this annual climb to remember our service men,” said Frank Siller, one of Stephen’s siblings and Chairman and CEO of the Foundation. “The Climb means so much to the families and friends of those who gave their lives that day. With the help of volunteers, donations and dedication, we are proud to have the opportunity to honor Stephen and all of his firefighter brothers in this special way.”
