Komen and the fight against breast cancer, a disease that kills more than 41,000 people in the U.S. each year. The City of Charlotte’s Landscape Management Division is taking an inventory of Charlotte’s street trees to help determine their condition and needs. The inventory is being performed to support the City’s Urban Forest Master Plan and its goal for Charlotte to attain 50 percent tree canopy by the year 2050. Arborists with the company Plan-It Geo have been hired to inventory street trees the City is responsible for maintaining, such as those in planting strips, medians and other areas in the right of way.
