The Young Affiliates of the Mint (YAM) will host the 4th Annual Charlotte YP Mixer on Wednesday, January 16 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Level Five of Mint Museum Uptown in the Mattye and Marc Silverman Grand Room and new museum Expansion Space. This year’s event will welcome nearly 30 young professional (YP) organizations from the Queen City. This city-wide event has historically brought together more than 700 attendees, making it the largest YP event of the year. We anticipate a similar turnout at this year’s Mixer.
YP organizations at the Mixer will have a designated table, where attendees can gather more information about each group and ways to get involved. Attendees are encouraged to explore the different interests and missions of participating organizations, while mingling with fellow young professionals.
“The reason this event is so special for Charlotte is because it brings together every institutional YP organization of the city under one roof for a truly city-wide event,” said Derek Bastien, founder of the Charlotte YP Mixer. “While the YAMs host the event, there are many other incredible YP organizations in ourcommunity with a variety of important missions. Our aim is to present this great coalition so young people can get involved and give back.”
In addition to the Mixer, the YAMs offer a year-round resource for the YP community at youngaffiliates.org/charlotteypmixer. This page provides information and links to each participating YP organization.
Early-Bird tickets for the Mixer are $10 and are available until January 4. Prices will increase to $15 on January 15. On the day of the event, tickets will be available at the door for $20, depending on availability. All tickets include the opportunity to network with participating YP organizations and attendees as well as one complimentary beer or wine ticket. To buy tickets, visit our page on the Mint Museum website.
“Since the inaugural Charlotte YP Mixer, we’ve not only seen our YP community growing, but we’ve also established a culture of collaboration and communication amongst fellow organizations” said Bastien. “This collaboration only makes us stronger and fosters the opportunity to continue this event for many years to come.”
